  • Rajendra Jani

    Managing Director & Chairman

    Mr. Jani has been with the organization since its inception and is still the anchor and mentor of Team Ramana. He has been involved in institutional development and governance, training and capacity building, change management, programme/partnerships, grant fund management, M&E, CSR etc.

    He has worked across all sectors of development including Health, Sustainable Livelihood, Urban/Rural/Tribal/Industrial/Infrastructural development, Natural Resources, Disaster Mitigation, Constituency Building and Communication, Systems Design and Development, bottom-of-pyramid approach, Public-Private Partnerships, Policy Reforms, Social Engineering/Enterprise, Electoral Management Strengthening, Strengthening Value Chains and Micro Enterprises etc. Services provided includes policy development/review, strategy/strategic framework development/review, programme design/review, partnerships and programme management, institutional and governance strengthening, training and capacity building, M&E, communication and constituency strengthening, systems development etc.

    He has worked in more than 500 projects funded by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, DfID, USAID, CIDA, UNAIDS, UNDP, WHO, UNFPA, World Food Programme, CARE, Oxfam, Packard foundation, Path, Pathfinder, Action AID, PSI, PCI and corporate sectors of India as well as grassroots level NGOS/CBOs. Corporate sector clients worked for include Reliance, E-Merck, Cadila, Cibatul, Atul, Ciba-Geigy, Bombay Dyeing, P&G, ABB etc.

    He has worked with governments, corporates and civil society organizations. He has left his footprints 25 states/UT of India and nine developing countries including India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, Indonesia etc.

      • Purvi Jani

        Director

        Ramana Group is Purvi’s brainchild and she is co-founder of Ramana group and on Board of Directors. She brings with her, down to earth and pragmatic viewpoints of realities and ensures that while the dreams soar, the feet of the group are firmly anchored to the ground. With her commerce background she advises the group in financial management. Purvi loves applied psychology and human behaviour, astrology, cookery, reading and traveling.

          • Kedar Jani

            Director

            Kedar is interested in Meta data Analysis, Scenario Building, Modeling and Policy Analysis with his academic background in Engineering and Masters in Engineering Policy Analysis. He is an avid reader, loves traveling and photography. He is a good singer, has keen sense of humor and a fun person to be around. He has travelled through 11 countries till now and counter keeps clicking. As member of the Board of Directors Kedar is responsible for developing new businesses of the group.

              • Pro. R.S.Goyal

                Regional Director, Uttarakhand

                Prof. R. S. Goyal is a social scientist having specialization in areas like Empirical and Operations Research, Programme Evaluation, Policy and Strategy Analysis, and Capacity Building & Institution Building. His area of interest includes wide range of sectors like Healthcare and Population Management, Impact of Disaster and Rehabilitation of Affected People, Ageing, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Livelihood and Gender related issues.

                Prof. Goyal comes with a Ph.D. in Social Demography, PG Diploma in Population Sciences and a Masters in Statistics. He has over 35 years of research, teaching and training experience. He has 50 empirical, operations research and programme evaluation studies and over 100 research reports/paper published in various national and international journals in his kitty. He has organized over 50 international and national conferences; seminars, workshops and training programmes till date and have developed several international training modules for capacity building of programme professionals in healthcare sector.

                He is currently serving as the Regional Director of Ramana Group’s Dehradun Chapter. He is a visiting Dean, Faculty of Population and Healthcare Sciences at Himgiri Zee University, Dehradun; and Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur as well. He has previously served as an Associate Professor at Punjab University, Chandigarh, Research Officer at WHO Human Reproduction Research Unit, SGS Medical College and lecturer at BYL Medical College, Mumbai.

                Prof. Goyal is associated with over a dozen international, professional and development bodies in various capacities. He has worked with/in projects funded by World Bank, WHO, UNFPA, UNICEF, USAID, PATH, Mac Author Foundation and Govt. bodies.

                  • Dr. Ketan Gandhi

                    Senior Advisor

                    Dr. Ketan Gandhi is a Medical Doctor with 22 years of experience in the social-development sector. He has been part of more than 250 different projects across 20 States in India. Dr. Ketan has worked across all major sectors in development including Health, HIV/AIDS, RCH, Democracy & Electoral Management, Decentralization & Panchayati Raj, Urban Development, Rural Development, Women’s Empowerment, Livelihood, Skill Development and Energy Conservation. His functional expertise is spread across areas like Strategic Planning, Operational Planning, Project Management, Systems Design & Development, MIS Design & development, Monitoring & Evaluation, Research, Documentation, Knowledge Management, Communication, Training & Capacity Development and Community Development. Dr. Ketan has presented and represented at International Conferences and has many of his works published in various forums.

                    He is part of Ramana Group since 2001 and currently serves as the senior Advisor. Nowadays he is exploring his interest in Transformational Capacity building, Organizational development and General Counseling.

                      • Nalin Patel

                        Financial Manager

                        Mr. Patel has been serving as the Financial Manager of Ramana Group since last 5 years now. With 34 years of experience in the field of Accounts and Finance he keeps the monetary requirements of the company at bay. Mr. Patel has background in Commerce and is an Alumni of Gujarat University. He has served as financial manager of organizations and companies in and around Ahmedabad, Gujarat for the past 35 years.

                          • Manoj T. Thacker

                            Project Manager

                            Mr. Thacker serves double positions as Project Manager of RDC (Raman Development Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.) and Chief Executive Officer of Saral, RDC’s sister Organization. He comes with an experience of more than 10 years in social-development sector with long-term expertise in Corporate Relations. Having worked in more than 60 projects over the course of his career and with local knowledge of 10 different states in the country he has in-depth understanding of the ground realities about development sector.

                            He is interested in and has acquired the aptitude for Management, Resource Mobilization and Coordination of Development Sector and CSR. He comes with the ability to network with communities, NGOs, Corporates and Government agencies.

                            He holds Masters in both Social Work and Business Management, has co-authored the book, ‘Barefoot researchers’ and has presented a research paper ‘Role of youth in democratic India (2009)’ in an international conference.

                              • Atul Sharma

                                Regional Manager, Uttarakhand

                                Mr. Sharma manages the Dehradun chapter of Ramana Group. He had served as Programme Officer in the Technical Support Unit (TSU), Delhi State AIDS Control Society where he was involved in the Monitoring, Evaluation and supervision of 15 Targeted Intervention (TI) Projects. He had served as Project Associate in several state-government projects including ‘Training of Panchayati Raj Elected Representatives under Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Sashaktikaran Abhiyan (RGPSA)’ in 7 districts of Gujarat, ‘Planning and preparation of perspective plan for Dang district under BRGF for the year 2014-15’ in Gujarat, ‘Documentation of Online Job Application System (OJAS) and Recruitment Calendar’ in close coordination with General Administration Department (GAD), Government of Gujarat and ‘Sickle Cell Anemia Control Programme’ implemented in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat.

                                Mr. Sharma has background in Social Work with specialization in Rural Development and Microfinance as well as Health management.

                                  • Tarun Sharma

                                    Mr. Sharma handles the project acquisition and proposal development in the Dehradun regional office. He has managed Operations & Training for organizations in Uttarakhand prior to joining Ramana, where he was involved in planning, developing and implementing programmes.

                                    Mr. Sharma has background in Commerce and Business Administration with Advanced Diploma in Computer Studies from Informatics, Bangkok. He holds certificate courses in Travels & Ticketing, German Language and Training module in Long Term Care Insurance from United States of America.

                                      • Sachin Tomar

                                        Sachin Tomar an MBA Marketing professional with over 8 years of experience in Sales & Marketing in different corporates. He is a skilled communicator with excellent presentation skill, efficiency to lead teams; establish beneficial relationships with key players in the industry. He Possess business acumen with a proven track record of increasing revenues, establishing networks, streamlining workflow & creating a team work.

                                        He is a skilled communicator with excellent presentation skill, efficiency to lead teams; establish beneficial relationships with key players in the industry. He is result oriented with an ability to take up challenges and perform.

                                        Sachin has worked with NIIT LIMNITED at Gurgaon as an Industry Collaboration Manager, where he was responsible for managing educational institution based placement services and activities, supporting job seekers, especially students, to obtain job of their choice and skill. Along with that, he has network with various corporate human resource departments and tie-ups with various corporate houses.

                                        Previously, he was associated with Everonn Education India Limited New Delhi as a Marketing head. In Everonn, he managed the sales & marketing & was accountable for achievement of targets and profitability of operations. He was the key person to evaluate & develop new streams for long-term revenue growth by managing institutional sales. He evolved the strategies for market segmentation & penetration.

                                          • Mansi Kashatria

                                            Ms. Mansi comes with a background in Development and Geography. She comes with prior experience in the rural sector. She is a creative person and is a successful coordinator of events.

                                            She has designed and implemented a cultural project on rehabilitation of Bhakra-Nangal Dam Oustees where she collected audio narratives of people affected giving their unheard stories a creative expression. She used Oral History as a tool. She has interned as a researcher in Institute for Culture and Rural Development, Jorhat, Assam on Women Participation in Development where she studied SHGs, organized several meetings with members of SHGs and amongst members of different SHGs to create a platform for sharing struggles and successes, resulting in better understanding of participation patterns of women. She also worked in Brahmaputra Cultural Foundation and Globe Trot’ Art Majuli, Assam on project Katha Yatra II to bring about awareness on environmental issue, most importantly issues related to water by using cultural elements and community’s means of sustenance of life in Majuli. By becoming a part of a 15 day journey with ‘Boat on Wheels’ around Majuli she assessed increased inflow of plastic to the island.

                                            She has also been involved with Jan Jagaran Shakti Sangathan, Araria, Bihar which is a trade union working for upliftment and empowerment of Dalit communities and travelled several villages to spread awareness about unemployment wages and getting people enrolled for the same.

                                            With background in rural development and research as well as on field experiences she has the inclination to work for the welfare of the Indian society.

                                              • Rahul Ranjan

                                                Rahul has been involved in urban management practices in Ahmedabad city. He worked with A.M.C and Kalol municipality for underground utility line management and energy efficiency in municipal services as part of academic projects. He has completed master degree in Habitat Management from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. At Raman Development Consultants Pvt. Ltd.; his current work focus is analysis of ‘Smart City’ concept in country and looking for possible venture opportunity. Strategic planning for disaster management in the Uttarakhand State is another project he is working.

                                                A Mechanical Engineering graduate and have worked as an intern with Volvo buses India Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore; UNNATI, Ahmedabad; Design2Occupancy, Jaipur and City Heritage Centre, Ahmedabad. Energy security, building energy efficiency, project management, employment demand assessment and heritage management were focus area during my previous assignments. I come from Patna, Bihar and have keen interest to work for welfare and development of the state. This drove him to become a full time consultant in Raman Development Consultants Pvt. Ltd. He aspires to be a social entrepreneur and explore venture opportunities in municipal services.
                                                Rahul is found of diversity of India and has travelled to 24 cities in country. Interestingly he keeps a count of each city through movie tickets. He always find time to involve in sports, he says it bring positivity in himself. At free time he enjoys cooking with some light music.

                                                  • Kumudchandra Gaurishanker Gor

                                                    Mr. K. G. Gor has been involved with Rural Development, Administration, Disaster Management and Capacity Building for the past 4 decades. He has 38 years of experience working in Rural Development in the state of Gujarat. He has been associated with Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA), State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), DISRA, Raman Development Consultants Pvt. Ltd. (RDC) and many other government departments of Gujarat.

                                                    Mr. Gor has been serving as guest faculty at Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA), State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), and R.T.C. Ahmedabad of SPIPA. He has background in Commerce and Law. Mr. Gor is presently serving as a Trainer and Consultant in Public Administration, Revenue, Panchayati Raj and Rural Development.

                                                      • Hitesh Chauhan

                                                        Mr. Chauhan leads the Business Development of Renewable Energy in Ramana Group. He works on delivering Sustainable Energy Solutions to Rural and Tribal communities and individuals in different parts of the country. His current work focuses on Research and Analysis, Capacity Building & Training, Counseling, Project Management. He comes with a Masters in Energy Systems and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.

                                                        Mr. Chauhan enjoys photography, billiards, movies and travelling.

                                                          • Seena Babu

                                                            Seena heads the CSR development and Corporate Relations in Ramana Group. She started off her career as a fundraiser in Oxfam India later on becoming an active member in the core team of Oxfam India’s Cochin Regional Office. She moved to the corporate sector wherein she worked as an Account Manager in a US-based Management Solutions firm. Her current work focuses on Capacity Building & Training, Counseling, Organizational Development, PPP facilitation, and providing overall services for the Corporate Industry.

                                                            She comes with a mixed background in Education and Software Engineering. Seena enjoys outdoor activities like trekking, adventure sports and nature walks and savours dancing, poetry and photography.

                                                              • Anupa Chakraborty

                                                                Anupa has been involved in rural and urban studies focusing on communities which are least studied or exposed to such interventions. She has been involved with slum dweller communities in Pune and Mumbai and has explored the area of Solid Waste Management by working with ‘Waste Pickers’ Organization’ in Pune and Bangalore. She handles the livelihood programmes in Ramana. Her professional interests lies in Project Implementation and Assessment and skillset consist of field Research, Documentation, Report Writing, developing Proposals, Process Tracking and more. She is a great team player and contributes immensely for the team’s advancement.

                                                                Anupa has background in Economics and Development.  She is ‘Sangeet – Visharad’, a trained vocalist in Indian classical music, an explorer and a fun-loving person.

                                                                  • Chinmay Talegaonkar

                                                                    Mr. Talegaonkar leads the Social Enterprise Programmes in Ramana. A well-informed, balanced, consensus oriented person; Mr. Talegaonkar comes with excellent interpersonal skills and cross-cultural communication skills along with the ability to multitask and proven ability to work independently and/or in a team. He comes with background in Habitat Management and Political Science and a skillset comprising of management, cross-sectorial knowledge base and hands on experience in managing cities and developing innovative solutions to solve the challenges of rapidly changing urban conditions.

                                                                    He is a National and State level football player and a part-time Motor Sport enthusiast.

                                                                      • Ravindra Sisodia

                                                                        Ravindra has been involved in rural development sector since last 20 years. He has worked for women empowerment, land rights, agriculture market linkage, education and capacity building of marginalise societies. He has completed master degree in social works. As a trainer he worked with Gujarat state government to disperse information about government schemes and programs. An enrolled trainer for SPIPA and have been associated with working group of ‘Women and Land Ownership’ organization. Currently he is working for ‘Saral’, a Ramana group subsidiary to bridge the gap and empower the farmers. He is leading a team to form farmer’s club and self-help group (SHG) in Bayad, Gujarat.

                                                                          • Dipen Soni

                                                                            He is working as a computer operator executive for Raman Development Consultancy Pvt .Ltd. Presently He is responsible for translation of reports from English to Gujarati language. He holds a B.com degree from GLSIC College, Ahmedabad. He has operational efficiency in M.S. Office and Tally. He has been worked for J.K.Patel Taxation and GTPL Hathway PVT.LTD as account consultant and computer operator. He likes bike riding and street food.

                                                                                He works as office support for Raman Development Consultants pvt. Ltd. He support main business activity of organization and take care of needs of everyone at office. He is popular for ‘Masala Tea’ and Jokes. He has 5 year of work experience as customer sales executive & cashier at Reliance Fresh outlet, Ahmedabad. He has the basic knowledge of computer system. He likes reading Gujarati literature and traveling to remote places.

                                                                                    Mahindra is working as field executive for ‘Saral’ to empower farmers and women in Bayad, Gujarat. He has completed bachelor degree in Rural Studies and have diploma in agriculture studies. He had worked for Seed Company as field executive for seed production, collection and dispatch.

                                                                                        She has been involved in forming self-help group in Bayad, Gujarat. She has working for social capacity building. Community mobilisation, awareness about government programs and policies and hand holding of SHGs are focus area of work. She has worked as data entry operator in Mamlatdar office for three year. She enjoys working with people for their good. She had left regular studies after class 12th but the knowledge and exposure acquired from Mamlatdar office help to enhance her understanding about development sector.

                                                                                            Rajesh is associated with RDC since past 16 year. He works as office support for organization. He is a B.com graduate from H.K. College, Ahmedabad. He is good at MS office, Photoshop and video editing. He has managed accounts, logistic arrangement, field work and report printing for organization. He loves old Hindi songs. He has good sense of humour, and he makes sure to maintain light work environment through his jokes.
